Dogwithblog was founded in 2009 by Abhishek Joshi. Initially, it was a volunteer program designed to create awareness about Animal Laws In India, share pet-care tips and provide details about shelters homes in various cities of India. Abhishek was completing his Masters in Business Administration during the time; Initiated the blog as a personal project to consolidate information related to pets on an easy to access platform.

In December 2015, Abhishek collaborated with National Geographic India to explore the lives of stray dogs in New Delhi.

Adopting desi dogs and raising awareness of their plight is a recurring theme in their blog posts and social media. In addition,dogwithblog. promotes pet adoption through conventional and social media presence, public service announcements, and interactions with the local community, journalists, lawyers, pet lovers, volunteers etc.

During the pandemic, Dogwithblog initiated a campaign to find homes for stray dogs and how to take care of pets during the lockdown.
